Move here when HELL FREEZES! You get what you pay for

Hello MEB Management

Since I have moved into the Wellington Estates I have had problems since day one! Moving here was the biggest mistake since I have moved to San Antonio!

I am not from San Antonio and have been leasing from the Wellington Estates for 1 year and 3 months. Frankly it is the most revolting apartment complex I have ever lived in, not only that; I never thought I could be cheated from an apartment complex! But then again the floor plans and the management pretending to be your best friend can be pretty deceiving.

First day I moved in my apartment, the apartment smelled like dog or cat urine because the padding wasn?t changed out before I moved in. Then I questioned the management team about it and someone had the audacity to ask me if I could move all my stuff into one bedroom so the padding could be replaced! (Mind you, I moved into a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 children. I was working 2 jobs and going to school. I had to hire movers to move into the apartment. It was already hard enough getting time off of work and having to miss a class to move.)

After refusing to move all my stuff into one bedroom, the management team asked if I would mind waiting a month in the corroded apartment until the neighbors moved so I could move into the apartment next door. (I am not one to raise hell, so I waited) During this time, I find roaches in my apartment. Small ones and big ones; I went to the office and had them come and spray, but I had to wait because the pest control people come once a week on Thursday. THIS APARTMENT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE READY WHEN I MOVED IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

During this time the apartment complex took (the neighbor, little old lady, told me) my children?s bikes because the bikes were parked outside the apartment! I had no other place to park them because I barely moved in (working 2 jobs and going to school) so I was rarely home to unpack. I still have yet been able to get the bikes back; A total of $120!!!!!!

During the first month my car was towed because I was parking under someone else?s parking space. After I went to the office and asked where my car was; a young lady with an attitude told me she did tell me about assigned parking! NO ONE told me we had assigned parking. So I had to pick up my car at some raunchy yard and had to pay $125 to get my car back!

Trying to move into the apartment next door and explaining to the management how much of an inconvenience this is to me because I was going to have to hire movers again and transfer everything (charges for transfers) into another apartment 1 MONTH later, I told them to hire the movers themselves. Well the incompetent movers that YOUR management team hired showed up 24 HOURS later! I came back from being out of town and driving for 10 hours so I can move AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the movers never showed up that day! So during the time my patience had run down; so my 11 year old daughter, 9 year old son and I moved all the stuff into the apartment by our selves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once they did show up, I had them break down some bunk beds and put together a dresser I bought. I was charged $100 and your management took off $50 from my rent and a total of $45 for my transfer fees! $95 after having to go through all this trouble doesn?t make up for the stress, time off, and inconvenience that THIS WHOLE ORDEAL HAD CAUSED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After moving into this other apartment that again was SUPPOSE TO BE READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were cigarette butts on my daughter?s window; her window is cracked even 1 year and 3 months later. The window in my son?s room is also cracked and is still cracked 1 year and 3 months later. There was a hole in the door of the water heater closet and was replaced 8 months after I had moved in. After living in the apartment for 2 months the carpet looked like I had lived there for 3 years and had started to smell. The cabinets and counter top in the kitchen have been painted over and over again! I can?t get a glass, plate or pot out of the cabinets without pulling paint off the cabinet with my dishes. I have had to throw away dishes because now the paint will not come off my dishes! The counter tops can?t be cut on top of because I can cut into about an inch of paint! HAZARDOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BACTERIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The paint in one bedroom has peeled off my walls.

I have people sitting across my apartment looking into my apartment! My daughter has gotten calls from MEN (mind you she?s 11)!

My children can?t play outside because 1 neighbor is constantly complaining; and because this 1 complainer all the children in the area can not play outside, all the children have been restricted to the solitude! To satisfy 1 TENTANT!

I have called the police on both these issues!

I get letters on my door telling me my music is loud and I need to keep an eye out on my children. My radio is never on! I work all day and my children are in school! They are in bed by 8:30! My children are with friends while I am at work or at school! On weekends my children play under my window where I can see them or behind the building where it is easy access to listen in on them! JUST BECAUSE I LIVE IN THE GHETTO DOESN?T MEAN I DON?T CARE WHAT HAPPENS OR WHERE MY CHILDREN ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a complaint about me smoking outside my door. I smoke out my window with an ashtray and I barely started smoking when I moved into the WELLINGTON ESTATES!

Also trying to charge me for leaving cigarette butts on the window sill outside.

I received a complaint about my alarm clock going off in the mornings!

The manager wanted to charge me for my screen not on my window, after we had a storm and it flew off.

Maintenance has walked into my apartment without leaving notices.

After leaving my notice 30 days notice on the 4th of September, I get a letter on my door on the 6th of September stating I can not move out because my notice wasn?t given on the 30th of August or the 1st of September. Also if I want to still move out on the 30th of September I will have to pay a relenting fee of $150. No where on my contract does it state I have to give my 30 days notice on specific date. I had resigned a 3 months lease after my 1 year lease was up and never received a copy of the lease after telling management to leave a copy on my door. (I was willing to pay the extra $50 dollars a month and going month to month so I can move out after I had found another apartment.) But the manager decided to act like a nun and pretended she was doing me a favor and convinced me to sign a 3 month lease.

On the 10th of September I received an eviction notice telling I am going to be evicted from my apartment for not paying a total of $90 on my electric or water; which I had every intention of paying on the 15th. (I don?t like being bullied into paying a bill nor do I like intimidation)

I have always paid extra and almost always paid my rent on time. I pay the $35 and $5 a day if my rent is not paid on the 1st. Most apartments give a 5 day courtesy but the Wellington Estates don?t; most apartment complexes give reminders of the electric or water but the Wellington Estates sends out eviction notices.

I have wanted out of this hell hole since day one but since I signed a lease I kept to my lease. Now that I am trying to leave, I have to stay and pay $1040. So it won?t go on my credit. These are the charges management has given me $715 for the rent, $150 relenting fee and $175 to lift the eviction notice ?attorney fees?.

If your management team wants a real evaluation of this apartment complex the WELLINGTON ESTATES, try by talking to the tenants who live in these apartments because I have and most people I have spoken with are just waiting for their lease to end!

One tenant has the same complaint about her kitchen and another has mold build up in her vents and when one of the vents was removed because something was blocking it, it was like someone shoved a bucket of dirt into the vent. Mind you she barely moved into her apartment. She has cracks in the wood board that was painted over. There are numerous complaints from numerous tenants.

So before I pay this $1040 that is going to be put on my credit; I am going to the BBB, local news station, all the apartment locators in the San Antonio Area, posting a complaint on the Apartment Review Website and going to my lawyer.

My last 1 year and 3 months nothing but HELL!
