NIGHTMARE!!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2005

I have never had a worse experience in my life! Let me start by saying my first 6 months there were great. I had a good location and Brenda, in the office was always nice. BUT, after I re-signed my lease for another 6mos. My building caught on fire because os someone smoking in a downstairs apartment. I was at work at the time, working graveyard and saw it on the news. When I call the property the guy on the line said it wasn't at our place because he had heard nothing about it. I had to call the fire dept to confirm that of all things ait was my building.
Not only did management pressure us to move everything with no help or sympathy for our situation. They tried to put me in another apt temporarily half the size of my place, my things wouldn't fit. AND, the temp place they gave me still had a man's belongins in there! A sleeping bag, toiletries, and clothes were strewn all over and smelled. I am a single female. I refused to stay there. So when they place me in a a another apt. I was half the quality of my first and was in a hidden corner next to all the men doing renovations o n the property ogling me everytime I walked out the door. I worked in law enforcement and security in pretty bad neighborhoods so I know the difference in appreciative glances and freakishly creepy stares. I reported it several times to management and they laughed it off saying men will be men. In addition to the looks, since I sleep during the days I've grown accustomed to landscapers and cars during the day. But i had to call for a solid month almost everyday because the men while working on the adjacent buildings would open their apartment door that was always strewn with trash and beer bottles and turn their stereo on full blast so they can sing while they work. EVERYDAY!
In addition to all of this my electricity in half of the apartment would go out if i turned on more than one light and the tv. all day long this would happen. I had to hound them for two weeks to take care of it while i'm sitting in the dark.
If only that were it...Because they made me sign a new lease for the second crappy apartment they had two lease ending dates for me because they don't keep their paperwork straight and will have to ask for you phone number a millioln times even though they are supposed to have it on record. But Ray told me once, "Oh, I couldn't call you back because i don't have your number." This from the leasing office. Anyway, they tried to evict me a month early because they were keeping the wrong lease on file. Then when I did give my 30 days notice to vacate, it was during New Year's and no one was in the office to take it. So even though it was dated for the proper date and I gave it in time, bacuse they didn't see it til the 29th day. They were refusing to give my renter's info to the new place I was trying to move to and when I went to discuss the matter with them not only did the manager refuse to comeout from her office to speak to me I was kicked out of the office.
To this day I have trouble trying to rent anyplace or get financed (credit report) because they are saying that I broke my lease. Yet never once was I ever late paying my rent and I gave proper notice. Oh yeah, they kept my deposit of course, and are trying to charge me for it again.

Save yourself before its too late.
