I live here currently and I was actually looking for something I can do about the situation I'm in when I stumbled across this website. I only wish I had seen this before I moved in 3 yrs ago.
First of all, like everyone else says the water is constantly getting turned off without any prior notice so sometimes when you wake up in the morning you can't even wash!! And the price is ridiculous! I pay almost $50 a month for a 2 bedroom aptment, which I'm hardly ever home, for the water and an additional $120 for electric. My mom, who lives in a 4 bedroom house pays half of that.
Second, the maintnance is horrible. It does take them weeks to get anything done and it's usually done incorrectly. They are constantly losing work orders and then saying you never placed one. They also come into your house without permission, I know from personal experince being home when they walk in, terrified because I'm a woman and am sometimes still in my sleep wear. Then they deny they ever came!!
Third, and the final straw, the parking is horrible and so is the staff! The parking is covered and assigned and there are no free spaces for visitors or residents with 2 cars so everone parks in everyone elses parking spots. If the person is unfriendly or just plain tired of it they can have your car towed. I once had mine towed because someone was in my spot therefore I parked in someone elses and they had me towed. I payed $180 to get my car back for parking in someones spot for less than an hour. So when people continued to park in my spot I called the office and asked what I should do. I was told by one of the staff to park in someone elses parking spot and since they call the tow truck they would make sure if it were my car to not tow it. Of course I refused to do that so there 2nd solution was to park on the side of the apartment building, which happened to be a fire lane, were half a dozen broken down cars parked for months at a time. I asked them if they were sure it wouldn't get towed & they asured me that it wouldnt because they're the only ones who can call the wrecker. Needless to say, about 2 weeks ago, when I came home someone was in my spot and the office was already closed so I parked on the side to wait for the person in my spot to move. After about half an hour my neighboor came up and told me my car was being towed! I ran down and spoke with the wrecker driver who told me there was nothing he can do but take the car because I was in a red zone, regardless of what the apartments told me. He finally ended up leaving the car for a charge of $60. I then of course took this to management the next day who said they werent responsible for this. They said they never would have told me to park there, implying I was making it up and it was my fault. I asked for someone higher up and they gave me to a "manager" by the name of Sharon. From the very begging of the conversation she seemed defensive and unintrested. She put me on hold during mid conversation for about 10 mins. She stated anything that was told to me by management needs to be in writing and it was my fault for breaking the law! She then said I was an adult and should take responsabilty for my actions and then proceeded to ask me if I was an adult and if I even had a drivers liscence because I sound young on the phone. Her voice was raised throughout the conversation and she ended by saying she wouldnt do anything about this even if God told her to. I asked if there was anyone above her I can speak to and she said no and hung up!! I cant belive how unprofessional she was, especially since she was the top of the ladder in management according to her.
Please dont move in here. I need to move out as soon as possible. I've heard nothing but bad experinces from other neighbors and have no idea who wrote all the good coments about these apartments on this site. Probably mangement themselves!!
