As the saying goes. My family and I have been living here four years and we've seen the complex go through a few changes...some for better and some for worse. At first we were extremely happy with the complex because they offered very competative prices (there's an overabundance of complexes in the area), great floorplan options, lots of square footage, and the management was very friendly. The downside was that the grounds and buildings were showing their age and the management/owners were seemingly unwilling to spend any money on the place. The complex was plagued with break-ins, many apartments housed large groups of migrant workers, and the number of abandoned vehicles was staggering. To top it all of, while friendly, the management was very incompetent. Their bookeping and/or accounting left much to be desired.
Fast forward a few years and the place has done a 180°. The complex changed ownership and management and with them came new things. The new owners have spent what seems to be a small fortune in turning the place around in terms of curb appeal. They have repaved the parking lots, painted the buildings, and landscaped the grounds. They seem to have revamped their bookeeping methods and are now fully computerized. However, the office personel have the bed-side manners of Russian war nurses. They effectively send the message that they run a tight ship and the silly tenants are not going to get one over on us. So they, like the other post stated, have a tendency to treat residents like expendable commodities that constantly try to cheat the complex out of money. What's more, whatever accounting/bookeeping errors the previous owners and/or management made are just now being discovered and, if owed money, charged to the residents even if the errors are years old. If they owed you money, forget it, but if you owe them money, they will dutifully place a neon-red eviction notice on your door blaming you for the "late payment." If you plan on moving here, heed the warnings. In this complex, the adage is right; "you get what you pay for." The management's smiles only last as long as it takes you to move in. Sincerely --Lou

Lou, I respect your opinion. But I also can only imagine why they (mgmt) have to be careful and "run a tight ship" as you mentioned. We really don't know what they go through on a daily basis. Just as there are many decent people out there that they try hard to service, I'm sure there are also many difficult ones as well. Hence the Russian War Nurse attitude. I'd rather them be like that than too carefree about their work ethics, who they approve to move-in, etc. Its probably for our own good, and the survival of the company that runs our community. People by nature act and react based on their experiences so if they've been burned in the past, they're going to have their guard up. But they're not bad people. They're really great in my opinion. I like living here. The reno's were long overdue too and it makes me feel like they respect the community and residents for improving it so much. I've only been here 1yr and just resigned for another. And management always smiles at me. Sincerely Vanebelle |
