I relocated from San Antonio, and had a short time to establish aresidence. I didn't hava time to see a whole lot of properties and was initially impressed with Whispering Oaks. I was impressed with the rustic, country look of the buildings and of the diverse floorplans. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff members which took me through the inital tour process and eventually the leasing process.

Unfortunately, I was unable to see the unit I was renting prior to renting it because it "was not ready". It probably shouldn't have been considered "ready" after I moved in either. The carpet was old and worn, the wooden cabinets on the bottom were rotten in some places and there were roaches o' plenty. I was also disappointed to find out there was no linen closet whatsoever and no towel racks in the bathroom, and no racks in the oven.

I immediately reported the roach problem and they sent an exterminator relatively quick. I have placed roach traps and sprayed a few times, and they seem to be pretty much under control now, though I still see one occaisionally - mostly babies. It did take them nearly 2 weeks to respond to my request for oven racks, and I have since purchased my own towel racks and shelves for the bathroom. At this point, I'm pretty content with my unit, although a lot of it was my own doing. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and the staff has since been friendly and cooperative - however, I have not since run into any situations requiring special attention.

My advice to anyone thinking of renting at this community: Check your unit prior to moving in and make sure management tends to any issues immediately. Other than the inital issues I had in the beginning, I'm pretty happy with my residence and feel the apartment space is consistent with what I'm paying for it. The apartments are in a very convenient location, and all in all, I think I could have done a lot worse.
