We've lived here for six months, and upon our departure, I can only hope that fate will somehow bring us back here. I've been living in apartments in San Antonio for about 4 years now, moving every year or so, and I can say without a doubt that this is the best apartment complex I've stayed in, and I'm sad to leave.
The place is clean, the pool is fanTASTIC, the residents are nice, and the staff is a-mazing! One time, my girlfriend needed a lightbulb, and the maintenance guy walked over with her and installed it for her. She even told him he didn't have to...that's how nice they are. The apartment manager is the most adorable lady...upon walking into the office, I've never been greeted with anything less than a big smile and a "HI! How are you'"
The place seriously felt like home. My girlfriend owns a jeep, and this is the first apartment complex we've stayed in where we're leaving with all of its parts still intact. Her jeep has no doors. That's how safe it is here.
As far as construction goes, the insulation here is ridiculous. We had the AC cranked down to like, 65, through JULY, and our bill in a two-bedroom apartment was still less than 150 dollars (granted, it was a cool, wet July, but STILL!) The only construction problems I can think of were caused by SAWS and TXDOT as they did street outside. Oh, and speaking of streets, watching the cars collide on Northwest Military from our balcony has been an endless source of amusement!
Plus we lived on the third floor, and the view out our front door was spellbinding. You could look out and admire the gorgeous San Antonio sky at twilight (the sunsets can be really striking when the rays hit that air pollution).
But I digress. The point here is, out of five stars, I'd give this place six, if I could. I would recommend Winding Creek to just about anyone...and, well, I guess I just did.
