Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2009
I have lived here for almost three years, but I am not going to renew my lease for the following reasons:
The water bill is OUTRAGEOUS! I've never had to pay water for an apartment before, so when I found out my boyfriend pays about $18 a month for his two bedroom, while I pay about $50 a month for my one bedroom (both with only one person living there), I was NOT HAPPY. I wonder if it's because of all the landscape sprinkling they do. Every single night the sprinklers are pouring out water, with lots running down the street.
One month I had to pay almost $100 for a WATER BILL!
Maintenence takes forever and they usually have to come two or three times before the problem is fixed.
Worst of all, THEY TOOK MY BALCONY! The lovely balconies was one of the main reasons I got this place, but last year they tore them all down, replacing them with these ugly metal bars over the upstairs doors. Why' So they took away one of my amenities, reduced my apartment space (I was one of those people who actually had stuff on my balcony, plants and bird feeders and a chair, to be precise), and then they RAISED MY RENT!
It was a nice place at first, but it just keeps getting worse and worse, and more and more expensive, so now it's really not worth it. They took away my balcony, made me start paying their huge water bill, and then keep raising my rent.
Oh, also right now, now that it's getting hot outside, they closed the pool. So there goes another ammenity that I actually used, and if I renew my lease my rent will go up again.
So I'm outta here ASAP!
