After renewing our lease, I discovered new management took over, and the amount of the rent is significantly lower than what we initially signed for. I called the front office, and the new manager told me I was legally obligated to the initial lease amount. I understand that the amt of rent can fluctuate in order to attract new tenants, but this seem unfair to those of us who signed the lease SIX MONTHS IN ADVANCE of our end of lease agreement in order to avoid higher rent. Then, we come to find out that the rent was not raised, but lowered. Excuse me, but does this not seem unfair' I can't believe that TEXAS STATE is affiliated with this apartment complex, and are shutting the door to anyone who is complaining!!!! What about the kids who are working and paying their own rent' Why would the school and owners of the property take advantage of these kids' Have they not figured out by now that this is NOT the way to attract or keep tenants' Believe me, from a parent's perspective -- the cost of sending a kid to college is not cheap. We all know that anything helps in the way of cost cutting. So, why would you place your kids in an apartment complex when you know there may very well be a chance they or you will get "scammed" in the process. Because we are parents who honor the contracts we sign, we have no choice but to pay the higher cost rent. But, in the future, we will discourage any parent or future student from signing a lease with Bobcat Village. Take your kid and your money to another apartment complex. And as for you kids who got "scammed", always consult your legal department before signing a lease ANYWHERE! This place may be "safer" than other complexes, (whatever than means), but it's not worth the headaches and hassles. Don't be "fooled" by the appearance of the complex. Remember the old saying, "A wolf in sheeps clothing," and "juding a book by its cover." Go somewhere else. Don't even bother.
