I moved here because I didn't have any furniture and needed a place with individual leasing. At first I was ok with it, but its really started to piss me off. The letters that were mailed out to tell me where and with whom I'd be living turned out to be incorrect. But I didn't find this out until the day I moved in, at which point I'd already put my change of address through the post office. I was working full-time and didn't really have the time to screw with fixing their careless mistake. And at first, the manager blamed me. If I ever made a mistake like that at my job; I would be in a heap of trouble.

The most glaring thing I hate about bobcat village is the internet. They claim it is high speed; in reality it is barely better than dial-up and you will notice how slow it is. Also, my roommate and I kept getting viruses. We don't share files with one another. The internet was constantly going down. Once I tried to print something and somehow my computer was connected to many other residents' printers and I suspect the document (which was my grades and had my social on it) printed on someone elses computer. Bobcat village accepts no responsibility for the shady internet provided to their residents. They shove you off to Extensive Networks (the internet provider) who also fail to take any responsibility. I called so many times and they always tried to blame it on my computer. I had ZoneAlarm on my computer and it still didn't protect it from whatever was going through our network. My roommate had the exact same problems I did, so clearly the problem was not my computer, but try convincing the office or Extensive Networks of that. Bobcat Village provides Grande cable to its residets; why can't they provide Grande internet as well' you have to pay extra if you want that, and I don't feel I should have to in a place that already "provides" it.

The only redeeming thing about Bobcat Village is that is is usually quiet. As a working graduate student who unfortunately doesn't have time for a social life anymore (graduate school will do that to you), I really appreciate being able to sleep at night. The trains haven't really bothered me. The maintenance is usually pretty quick to respond to work orders. I also feel pretty safe living here.

Overall, I guess my experience here has been no worse than any other "student" place I have lived in. However, if I had furniture I'm sure I would live somewhere else.
