Makes Me Cry
From: TanyastarDate posted: 5/8/2004
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
Every time I think about my experience at the cedars I start to cry. I hated it there, it was all wrong and definatly not worth nearly a thousand dollars a month for a 3 bedroom 2 bath. What was so wrong with it' Let me explain in order or how they effected me...
1.) Down stairs neighbor had a motorcycle, while that is not nessesarly a problem with the apartment I think it would be since the guy was maintence and loved to rev-up his engine during all times of the day(troublesome when studying). We called in several times to complain, no action was taken to quiet the noise.
2.) When we first moved in we a list of maintence request that took a whole page of college ruled lined paper...it took 5 weeks for a guy to show up to even look at the problems and another week to fix them all. 3.)Who exaclty is the manager' While I was living there we went through 3 managers, that averages a new manager 4 months, what the heck is going on' Makes me think that there are interal problems and that is not something I want to be a part of because that's when money goes missing, and notices of eviction go out.
4.) Letter of Eviction: oh, yes even though we never paid late, where never outrageously loud, or revved up a motorcycle we got a letter of eviction from the new manager that had just come in, it said we failed to pay rent, well we went in to talk about it since we had NEVER missed rent, the manager was rude and unapologetic and said that she was unaware that we had recieved a special when we moved in of a month's free rent. We did not get evicted!
5.)Who turned the water off' I can't tell you how annoying it is when you are in the middle of a shower, or washing and the water just shuts off. Well I can't count on my hands how many times that happened to us during the YEAR (one year, 12 months etc.). When we would call and ask about they would say there was a leak and they had to shut it off, well if that is the case, how many leaks can one apartment complex have in one year!!
6.)Outrageous bills, this is probally my last complaint and well we new basically the price of rent which was 995 (3bed 2bath). No one gave of the price of water which for us was never under $85. Our electricity was for the first 3 months over $100 until the maintence replaced the air unit which need it bad and then the elec. dropped to a good average of $80-90.
All of these came together to make that year horrible for me and my roomates. Please save yourselfs and find somewhere else, anything would be better than living at the Cedars!
