I really enjoyed living there from July 2004 to July 2005. It was very quiet when we first moved in and the only exceptions were that there were some pretty low rent neighbors moving in as we moved out. They'd hand out smoking and drinking outside on their front area instead of the porches. You could seriously smell beer inthe air. That changed it a lot. This is seriously not an exaggeration....Maangement has changed nearly 20 times in the past 2 years and I had seen about 9 different people.. I don't think it has to do with the property and in fact the maintenance guy is very nice, prompt and still there. The place is beautifully kept but it isn't the mgmt co either. I use to work for them...actually the owners are what suck. They pop in every few years and make terrible changes that the people don't like and it never helps the place...unless they want it to become section 8. It was really especially sad when the manager we first loved and knew was fired. The computer room was ripped off and supposedly they said she was at fault but mainly spending too much money...yeah once they had to replace computers! Of course they did not and the printers there never worked.If you want a place that is kept up and all, get a roomate for the same price and live next door at Park or Palazzo. Newer places and more emmenities...esp. for college studenmts. You can find people looking through fliers at TxState library and LBJ bldg. I'm stil waiting for my pet deposit and I paid $600.00/$300.00 non-refundable..just for my big dog. Knew they had the right but you may want to ask that they give you a check sheet of what is wrong and what the charges are/were. I'd even ask for a blank one before I signed a lease. If their mgmt. doesn't have one they will probably think they can somehow steal your deposit and give up on collecting it. Best bet-don't clean at all upon move out, loose the deposit and let them learn! The best thing about the place was the walk around the block and the hospital center has a health trail. There is nothing to do around there though so make sure you have a car. buses stop running at 5 pm. and there are none on weekends. You also have to wait for the train to go by sometimes but it's not that bad or loud.
