My Seal of Approval

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
PROS: The grounds are well cared for. The staff is typically pretty helpful. The walls seem to be fairly thick as I rarely hear anything from another apartment. The apartment appears well-built, though it is a bit spartan. The two-bedroom plan is great for roommates because there is no "Master Bedroom", both are of equal size.
CONS: There have been some loud parties that have kept me from sleeping. They?d typically get quiet after I went over there a couple of times. The two-bedroom plan has the pantry OUTSIDE of the kitchen. There?s an architect somewhere who should be fired for that. Oh, and stackable Washer/Dryer units. They?re not that bad, but doing linens for a large bed is next to impossible in those things.
I would like to touch on one recent maintenance problem. We?ve had water problems for about 3 weeks (at least in this building) ranging from no water pressure to no hot water. These were typically sporadic problems, but nevertheless inconvenient. They?re finally fixed, though I was less than impressed by the way in which it was handled by management. To their credit, they did offer compensation afterwards. I thought it to be a paltry sum given the troubles we suffered through, so I negotiated for more.
Overall, this is a good place to live and stands to get even better. I?ve heard from management that they plan to add new appliances soon, as well as other renovations. Were I staying in San Marcos, I would continue to stay here.
