Apt. managers who get personal and not in a good way

I feel safe writing this review now that we have our refundable pet deposit money back and we are out of there and in our new happy home.

In my opinion, the manager at Clarewood (if its still the same one who has replied to previous posts) needs to read a marketing book, and she can have one of mine if she'd like.

My fiance had been at the complex awhile and everything was fine until they changed management 3 times in 4 months or something crazy like that and we got off on the wrong foot with the apt. manager. There seems to have been bad blood ever since. We, however, acknowledged the fact that he/we had signed a lease and were bound by said lease (as she's always going on about here). So, we resigned ourselves to stay and get out as soon as the lease was up.

Problem 1:
There was an increasingly disgusting problem with trash at the complex. You can imagine our surprise when we noticed trash outside even the manager's door (on our way to two dumpsters). After reporting her to her regional manager, the apt. manager told us about a new 12 hour trash policy that she allowed herself and other residents to take advantage of... eww and asked what she could do to make us feel more at home. She then called the police and said something to the effect of my fiancé was stalking her because the police showed up at our door asking for him regarding the matter. I give her this, she may have felt threatened, he's a big guy, but when he says he just wants the complex to not be a dumpster maybe its a misunderstanding, drop it right' OH NO...

Problem 2:
My fiancé’s manager called him into his office to talk about an issue. He works for a service provider for the complex. She had called them up and threatened to switch service providers if they didn't FIRE HIM. Okay, some people do stuff like that. Thankfully, nothing happened because everyone there regards him as one of the best employees. Story over...' I don't think so.

Problem 3:
We get an eviction notice for the month of July because we had only paid part of the total monthly rent. Why would we do such a thing with such obvious tension and dislike' Because we had paid EXTRA, that's right EXTRA every month for the past five months and our roommate was leaving. Some of that money was his, so we evened it up so we wouldn't owe him anything. We didn't owe the apartment complex anything either. We had to get a lawyer involved and then they cited a "bookkeeping error." More like a customer service error in the worst way.

Just things to note of your typical garden variety... people don't really clean up after their pets, the grass is always long (our poor chi had to do handstands to pee), we've come home to trucks parked in the grass blasting country music with the pool crowded with people and more silver beer cans visible than concrete, we got to hear our neighbors' friends cell phone conversations outside our window at 2 and 3am, the outside lights in our building always seemed to be out, oh and it took 10 days to get our a/c to cool below 80 which was apparently our fault for not telling them that 80 degrees at 4am was "uncomfortable." And of course because it’s nowhere in the lease we got NO compensation for our discomfort. I'd just to say that just because something is legal does not mean it is MORAL or ETHICAL and usually if you're using a technicality to justify your behavior, you're not practicing good customer service.

The one good thing, the maintenance guy always tried to be super nice, even when things got really strained. He's the most professional one in all of this mess.

I'd stay away until a more professional person takes over.
