Clarewood is probably one of the nicer places to live in San Marcos. It should be for the price they want in rent each month. It's not cheap. Actually, every place in San Marcos is overpriced. Even the dumps cost way too much.

Beside the inflated rent, Clarewood is a good place. The location is within walking distance to all sorts of places like Target, Best Buy, HEB, and Wal-Mart. They accept large dogs. The apartments are nicely furnished with modern appliances and contemporary fixtures. They even come with microwaves! Compared to most others in San Marcos, Clarewood is a winner in presentation.

The staff was friendly. The manager changed while we lived there, but the service always remained satisfactory. There were never any real problems. However, we did hear from other tenants that some buildings would not have hot water for days or weeks. Also the dude below us had water leaking from his bathroom ceiling, though it had nothing to do with us. Thankfully, our stay was pretty uneventful.

Just about the only awful thing about Clarewood are some of the people that live there. It??s a college town so mostly everyone around you is going to be a student. There??s going to be loud music at 2 in the morning, trash thrown everywhere, and other college clich??s.

The other sad thing is that Clarewood does not have a gym, but rather a rinky-dink ??internet caf????. Also there are loads of dog turds hidden in the grass, so beware.
