Unless you want a $6000 bill when you move out...

I lived at 1400 Clarewood from August of 2006 until August of 2007. Until June of 2007, it seemed very quiet with the exception of of the grounds keeping people mowing and the occasional thump from the upstairs neighbors, but since some new people moved in downstairs, it was noisy everyday.

I resigned my lease in June of 2007 with a promise from management that the broken floors in the kitchen and bathrooms, along with the stained carpets, (all of which were like that when I moved in) would be taken care of "free of charge."

On the same day that my second lease went into effect, I started hearing bassy music from directly below my bedroom. To Clarewood's credit, it did stop from coming below my bed, after several complaints, but promptly started and continues to come from their cars in the parking lot, (as well as their friends' cars.) This was after multiple calls to the SMPD and the passive management here at this apartment complex.

Since then, besides the bassy music outside, it turned into...

1. Loud thumps on the walls, (apparently due to wrestling, as the neighbors explained to the SMPD.)

2. Yelling and screaming from the front door and balcony towards the parking lot and closer.

3. Bouncing basketballs up and down the sidewalk for hours at a time.

4. Slamming doors at every hour of the day/night, usually 10-plus times a day.

5. A 100% increase in litter around their apartment and vehicles.

6. My front and back porch being shot at by bb guns. (shattered glass)

I gave up complaining to the apartment complex in early July, due to a constant passive attitude, but I continued to call the SMPD frequently, and yet the noise continued.

Since neither the police or the staff at 1400 Clarewood seemed too concerned with the constant nuisance upon me from apartment ---, I had no choice but to move out on the grounds that my lease has been violated. I payed $725 every month for comfortable living and peace and quiet, yet I dealt with constant noise and harassment from the people below me, who void my peace and ability to be content.

Since I moved in there, (or anywhere else for that matter,) I'm not aware of a bigger nuisance than some residents of Clarewood and their guests. This is not something anyone should ever have to be around, let alone live with. I moved in here because it was a quiet and serene community compared to most places I knew of in San Marcos.

The circumstances have now changed.

I moved to a really nice neighborhood, but a couple of months later, I received a bill for $6000 from Clarewood, including items such as "carpet stains" and "damage."

I left the apartment in the same shape as I received it in 2006, with minimal clean-up. I have digital pictures to prove that the damages were there when I moved in.

Anyway, I would strongly recommend NOT moving into Clarewood Apartments in San Marcos.

It is very immature of you to post the apartment number that you are complaining about. My family has since moved into the apartment you are so obnoxiously complaining about and now I have to defend us because you trash talked the previous tenants. Next time, think before you post things because it affects the innocent. I advise that you remove the apartment number NOW!!!
