I moved in in 2001 and was really satisfied the first year. I have been here now for a couple of years and it seems like the luster has faded a bit. I agree that it's a quiet place to live for the most part. And the apt's are pretty nice, but maybe a little dated. But the parking really does suck when you live in the 1st building. I was used to having my own parking space. And it really wasn't bad until they started punching a road thru down by the Zone (AKA- The Exchange) Now the SWTram doesn't stop at the Zone, therefore, every lazy college student from the ZOne ends up driving !!!LESS THAN 1 BLOCK !!!! to park their cars all along the sides of the road to catch the bus at the River Oak Villas, until there is no parking for the tenants in Bldg 1. It is ridiculous. They even have covered parking and still are too lazy to walk.
I'm not sure what the other people were paying for water, but my bill has never been over $30 for any month since I have been here. The electric is not bad either...Believe me, I have had the city electric company and it is more expensive than the Co-op. There is one other complaint in which, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has it. People really need to be respectful of other tenants when it comes to their pets. It is not a nice thing when you have friends over and they have to track in or smell dog crap right next to the front door of your apt, it is totally emabarrasing to explain away someone elses funky and disgusting disrespect for the people that live around them. At least take them a few feet to the side yard!!!!!! I think the next apt I rent will not allow pets, that part has been just that bad... I think managment is seeing the light though and are making comments about it in the newsletter. Maybe they will crack down on it. Don't get me wrong, I love pets and wish that I could have one, but I don't think an apt is the right place for one.
