Horrible

The staff at these apartments are horrific. The managers show up about 10am, go on lunch from 12-2pm and leave at about 3pm. Anyone will take your money, but if you have any questions about fees or something only a manager can handle everyone just makes things up. I called three times about fees and got three different answers. The delivered time sensitive documents 2 days late and mixed up my account balance several times. They offered to put my apartment on their sublet list, charging a higher rent ($39 more a month) than I have to pay. The new renter and I were okay with that, and then at the last minute implemented a $350 fee I would have to pay ontop of my month's rent, the new person's higher rent and a $100 deposit the new person would have to pay but the removed the $65 administrative fees temporarily, as if that would help. Now no one is willing to move into the apartment. You can believe this if you want to or not, but my friend works for a local apartment locater and said their other office is refusing service to them because they owe $100,000 in unpaid locater fees. I haven't lived in the apartment for over a year and they won't even let me pay a buyout fee. If I want to buyout my lease, I will have to pay them more in one lump sum than I would end up paying just by paying the monthly rent.

Sounds like you should have read your lease. U. Heights does not have a buy out option. Only sublet and it requires a $350 fee. Which is in the document that you probably did not read like most idiots in student housing that don't care about what the lease says until it affects them .
