I lived here for one year. It wasn't terrible but I felt like I paid too much in rent and bills for what I got. The maintenance staff was excellent, they were always friendly and attentive. The management was terrible. The head lady was often rude and disrespectful, and as soon I signed my lease she didn't't really care what my problems were. Sometimes I didn't feel safe living there. One time there was a trail of blood outside my hallway and I had a detective come knocking at my door to ask me if I had any information about some person who got beat at a party. In addition, one time I woke up to someone screaming outside my window that they were going to kill some person that was with them and I mean that literally. The sound of that guys voice was seriously the sound of crazy. I would not reccomend living here. There are many more choices available in San Marcos that are a better value than Hill Country.
