Example of actual Hillside Ranch management activity: they essentially were bribed by a towing company to implement a policy which lets THAT TOWING COMPANY tow anyone not displaying a parking permit on the Hillside Ranch property. Hillside Ranch charges $50 to replace each 10-cent plastic permit. The management's actions might as well be saying "We don't care if your friends can't find an open guest-parking spot, we're going to tow them anyway, and it's a big problem for us to replace a lost parking permit, so you will be penalized $50." It's like they think telling us their arbitrary "reasons" for enforcing such a policy will fool all of us into believing they aren't acting like the selfish mechanical pigs that they truly are. They apparently think we don't know they operate selfishly, playing invisible games with us and lying through their teeth to get more money. However, if you're willing to cope with plastic, viscious management, and if you just want a decently-maintained place to live, then this place will suffice.

You know...parking used to be really bad here with people that did not live here taking spaces close to my apartment. I had to park 3 or 4 buildings away which sucked especially when I had to bring in groceries from my car. At least they are trying to make parking easier for actual paying residents versus worrying about your friends having a place to park. My friends come over and they can park in a visitor spot. I like my friends but I did not move into my own apartment so they can have somewhere to park. I am just happy they are doing something to help residents be able to park closer to their apartment.

I agree! Parking used to be really bad, especially coming home late when people had guests over! I also found that people were parking so they could take the bus right out front at our stop and not pay for parking, so the parking permits have been GREAT for paying residents! My friends haven't had a problem with towing or finding guest spots either!

Most complexes do this anyway. The apartment I came from in Austin had the same permit/towing policy... get over it.
