I lived in the Outpost from December of 2006 to summer of 2008. When I first moved in I LOVED the maintenance team, but when they got new maintenance staff I was very dissapointed. They were kids who took forever and never did anything all the way. The fountains were always dirty and stinky. It was not very well lit at night, and there were a number of car burglaries.

The office staff was nice for the most part, but didn't go out of their way to do anything for you.

They came on Friday mornings at like 6am to do the lawnwork, which was annoying to say the least.

Then, when I moved out, I KNOW my roommates and I cleaned that place from top to bottom, but we were slammed with move out fee's for full clean and full paint in the area of $250 dollars. Each! There were 4 of us! It was ridiculous.

Also you have little choice who you live with, and over the course of my 2 years there, I had a completely crazy girl, who complained about everything, a drug addict who would let her friends stay for days at a time, a complete slob who never took out the trash or did her dishes, and one who let her boyfriend live in her room with her.

The Outpost maintenance staff has been the same staff since June of 2006. The only time there are college kids working for the maintenance staff is during the turnover process. The staff is very good at taking care of work orders within 24 hours. Go to any other complex is San Marcos and see how long it takes to get something fixed. The maintenance staff at the Outpost is amazing!

That's just not true. They can try to say anything they want, but they did have a change in staff, I was friends with the guy who was there when I moved in and he definately left, and it wasn't June of 2006. I do live in another complex in San Marcos, and my maintenance man does get things done almost immediately and are friendly and courteous, unlike the Outpost.
