Great place to live!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 5/4/2007
Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I've lived here since August 2006, and I've had almost no trouble living here.
THE APARTMENT: I live in a studio which is about 400 square feet. I feel like the kitchen could be smaller so that the bathroom area could be larger, but that's just me. I have plenty of room for all my furniture, and there's cable/phone outlets on both sides of the apartment, so there's a lot of ways your furniture can be arranged. The walk in closet is a good size, but the water heater is also in it which makes things a little cramped. However, there are shelves in the closet as well. Plenty of room for all my clothes (and I have A LOT!). The kitchen also has a lot of cabinet space. About a third of my cabinents are empty, but I really don't have that many things. The bathroom area is SMALL. There is a small sink/vanity area with no counterspace and only one cabinent. I use plastic suction cup shelves on my mirror for more space, which works well. The bathroom itself is also tiny, but sufficent. There is also one additional cabinent in the bathroom above the toilet for more storage. I have carpet throughout my apartment, with tile in the kitchen and bathroom. I have not had any problems with my feet turning black or getting dirty like previous raters have. Yeah the carpet is ugly, but just get some throw rugs and you'll be fine. The A/C unit also works great; I keep my apartment freezing and have only gone over the $50 electricity allotment a couple of times (and it was only about $10 over). Management pays most of the bills, including $50 towards electricity, local phone, and basic cable.
NEIGHBORS: I've met a few of my neighbors, and they're all very nice and I've had no problems with crazy, loud parties. Everyone is pretty quiet and respectful of other people's things.
THE GROUNDS: Management has fixed some things, including adding more security lighting. Some people don't pick up after their dogs, but that's a problem no matter where you live. I've had absolutely no issues with anyone trying to vandalize or break into my car. On several occassions I've left my ipod and cell phone in plain sight and nothing has happened. This community is also pretty small and sort of the anti-college community. Sure there are college kids living here, but it's nothing like living at the Ridge or EX2 or something. It's much smaller and much more relaxed.
TRAM: The tram stops next door at Post Road Place by the gazebo. Only takes about a minute to walk over.
MANAGEMENT: Over the past few months management has been taking strides on improving the grounds, as well as the staff. They've extended office hours and I feel they are much more accessible than they used to be. Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful. Some maintenance issues I had took a few days to get fixed, but you just have to keep reminding them of your problem and it will get fixed.
I can't think of anything else... But this place was great and I totally recommend living here!
