Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I lived at VOTR for 2 years. When I first signed the lease the staff and maintinence were pretty nice and good. When I came in to pay my rent they knew my name. New carpet in the apartment, other things were less than standard, they replaced the dishwasher within the first week, had to re-caulk most of the water fixtures because they were leaking.
Under the kitchen sink there was water rot and mold, which they never took care of, and stunk up the apartment for months. Their solution was to send the maintinence lady over with some bleach, which took care of it for 1 week, then the stench was back.
2nd year lease, they changed managers, and upped my rent by 120$ a month (690 a month!) for my same apartment. When I went to leave they wanted 70 days notice, and wanted to prorate my last 10 days of being there as a full month.
They let maintinece and "upgrade" crews into my apartment without my permission or notifying me, which caused my puppy to go completely nuts, peeing and pooping all over the apartment for days if I didn't lock her up till she calmed down. The new management crew was very inept, rude, and wouldn't fix any problems I had in my apartment for my entire 2nd year lease.
