Check out the facility before renting

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
Location is amazing but it is not worth having to deal with all the terrible downsides of this place.
There is no doubt in my mind that this place will be torn down in the next 3 to 8 years.
Pros:
wash/dryer in each unit
close to txstate campus
close to HEB
all bills are included in the rent
comes with bed, desk and a dresser, but very cheap
Cons:
The building is poorly designed.
All materials used were extremely cheap.
This building was built on a fault line and is slowly falling apart.
It shows some major foundation problems especially for a building that is only 3 yrs old, almost every room or apartment i have been in. It is very bad in the halls too
There is a pool but it is constantly closed due to glass or animals in the pool
the staff will do what ever it takes to make a few more dollars with ridiculous fines and the unwillingness to evict the most troublesome of renters just on the fact that they still pay rent (this includes my downstairs neighbor plays the drums at 4 in the morning and doing all of his drugs while yelling and beating the ceiling with a broom because we walked across the kitchen and he heard footsteps) the cops have been to his apartment about 5 times in a month and nothing was done by sanctuary
Regardless all situations are not going to be the same, but if you have a noisy Neighbor, dont bother telling the owners because they just dont care
It is not a student-only apartment unfortunately
The elevators are constantly broken
There is trash and dog crap all about in the halls
Most of the outside doors are broken
Dont have company over or else there cars will be towed, unless you know where the few available street parking spots are
All furnishings, appliances, carpet and walls and fixtures and cabinetry are bottom of the line
There are only about 3 staff members that know what is going on and actually try to help you, but if you ask anything more then basic questions to the others, they have no idea and usually make stuff up
If you have a bad roommate, prepare to have to live with them because unit changing is few and far between
It is right next to a funeral home, and every funeral there is about 5 cops with their siren on
It is also close to the fire department which brings more sirens
The maintenance people are very slow.
The rooms are very small and some are very awkwardly shaped, the bed takes up about 3/5s of the room.
Parking garages arent made for drunk college students. lots of finder binders and broken tail lights. an extremely long walk from some apartment units to the garage, its also the same place as trash pickup.
ABSOLUTELY NO SECURITY. there are no:
security cameras, security men, locks to the outside of the building. so anyone can get in and do anything they want!
Cars are constantly broken into.
I could keep listing but you get the idea
I absolutely do not recommend this place
