If you are living in your first apartment coming from a dorm, it won't be the worst place you have ever lived. If you have lived at another apartment this WILL be the worst place you have ever lived.
Apartments are generally dirty when you move in, make-ready is TERRIBLE. I asked the management to do some touchups on the walls and they told ME to get the paint from maintenance and do it myself LOL.
Maintenance, HA, it takes an act of god to get anything fixed around here. Our A/C has been acting up, leaking, operating innefficiently, and flooding the carpets for nearly 3 months. I lost count at how many requests we made to office employees to fix it after about 8 times. It has leaked so much that it has ruined one bathrooms counter top and cabinets, the massive amounts of water have warped them, and started growing mold on the wall, smells REALLY nice LOL. Our mailbox has also been broken for nearly as long. Don't get me wrong, they make an attempt to fix problems now and then, they are just inept and unable to fix the problems. We asked to have the 8 year old carpet cleaned/replaced, no dice.
The management never walks the property, building lights will remain burned out for months, holes in outside walls there for months, thousands of cigarette butts on the ground, beer bottles everywhere, rarely is there are ground crew doing any maintenance/cleaning. The cable is provided by the community, but some of the channels, the premium services specifically, don't work quite right or at all sometims. Hope you don't want to watch any HBO. Recently the enitre communities water was turned off and the management didn't give the residents any notice. However, they did give us notice that several auto thefts have occured and we need to watch our things. 6 months into my 12 month lease they gave a notice saying "it is your FINAL WARNING to renew your lease or your spot may be leased to someone else" - a THREAT to renew my lease, are you HIGH'!'!'!' Not only that, that "final warning" was left over spring break and the final day to renew was before spring break was over, gimme a break.

The owner needs to clean house and hire a new staff.
