I loved the Timbers and everything that came along with it! The scenic atmosphere so close to Texas State was really nice. It felt more out of town than it was because of its location on the hill. The office staff was kind, knowledgeable, honest and truly cared about my experience at the Timbers. The maintenance staff was the best staff I have ever been exposed to. All issues with my apartment were handled the same day of reporting the problem. Johnny and Robert are incredible men and truly made me feel taken care of. They always wave and say hello if they see you around the grounds, leaving a family feeling behind. No one ever entered my apartment without permission and they always left a note letting me know what they had done and how long they had been there. I have found that people who do not have good experiences with apartment staff usually aren't the best tenants either. You not only enter in to a contract with the renters, but a relationship as well. This relationship is reciprocal and should be taken care of. Unfortunately, I think the Timbers has gotten a bad rap because of the large number of young college students who move in to their first apartment there. They don't know what to expect and tend to feel like they are the only people who live there that matter. They pay rent late and then are angry when they are charged the late fee. It is a business! If the apartment owed them money and didn't pay on time...How would they feel' Anyway, I loved the Timbers and my only advice to those who consider living there is to remember the Golden Rule--Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Right, and the time when I payed on time and they tried to charge me a late fee because THEY didn't cash the check until a week later, that was my fault? Or when they turn off the water for no reason, WITHOUT notice, it's my fault for not knowing what to expect being a college student and all. Or, when they start banging on the walls/roof hard enough to knock down things that I have hanging on my walls at 7am, again WITHOUT notice, I'm sure that's just business. Or, when WITHOUT notice they change our mail keys and use a torn piece of cardboard with a note written in sharpie to go to the office to get the new ones, that's just them being professional and courteous. Or, when you try to call the emergency maintenance number to report that water has been shooting 30ft into the air for an hour at 3am and they don't answer no matter how many times you call, that's them being responisble. The Timbers get a bad rap because they are a bad apartment complex. Period.

Hi management. Maybe you should spend less time writing bogus posts to Aparment Ratings and actually spend more time doing your job. Then your lovely, wonderful renters wouldn't hate you quite so much. Seriously, you guys are the worst. The only true thing in your post is about Johnny and Robert. They are cool. Anyone thinking about living here, just keep on driving. I promise you will be much better off. The rest of us have to wait till our lease expires.

I am not management! How rediculous to think someone could actually have had a good experience with the Timbers? I am not the one posting anonymously. You are! My boyfriend, sitting right next to me, said the Timbers was his first apartment and he also had a good experience. I lived in apartment 2505. Unfortunately, the only people that seem to post on this site are unhappy. Unhappy people are far more likely to complain, than happy people are to praise. Again, have you thought about what you could do to make the situation better. Maybe modify your behavior toward the management, because you are really the only person you have any control over. Angry people, like yourself, don't tend to look at their role in the situation. Just try and let go of what anger or disdain you have toward the timbers and start fresh. You may have a totally different experience. It is part of growing up and maturing to learn how to deal with problem situations. Obviously you are not there yet.
