ok i get that this is a site for angry people who are mad at their living situation which is cool, but not very helpful for a legit review if you are REALLY trying to move. here is the god's honest truth about my experience here so hope it helps!
i live in a 2 bed/2 bath. my rent is $490 with no bills... water is usually like $30, and electric is around $70 max. its a bit expensive, but worth it.
why I like living here:
*disclaimer... i lived in a total crap hole last year so this is a GREAT improvement for me. if you are like me (and if you live in sm, you probably are...) you will be happily suprised.
-All the appliances are brand new, like sears commercial, home and garden style
-the rooms are freaking huge! I dont even have enough stuff to fill them up... and i have a lot of stuff.
-there is a working fireplace,
-a nice balcony,
-this really awesome trail through the pretty woods that leads straight to campus (which is like half a block away... come on! that enough is worth it, not having to take the sweatbox buses).
-awesome maintenance... i read some other reviews and i am confused, every time i leave my apartment there is a maintenance guy asking me if i need anything fixed. i think they are bored because nothing ever breaks.
-nice neighbors who are friendly
-really chill atmosphere, lots of dogs and people running around at appropriate times and quiet when they should be
-nice kitchen. nothing breaks there and i can actually cook in it!
-bdass pool with a fab view of old main part of campus, and a 5 min walk to the river!
-they tow dicks who park here to walk to school
-its big enough so that when i want to be alone, i can be, and when i dont its very cozy and homey.
-they painted our huge wall orange (we asked them to) and its so cute! you can pick any color you want. the girl below me has green.
-trees, everywhere, outside each window and they are LOVELY!
I have lived in lots of apartments in this town, most of which sucked (like U Springs... sht-hole. dont even try) but out of all of them, this is by far the best. Maybe i just lucked out with my specific apartment and i did decide to pay a bit more for the bigger 2 bed/2 bath floor plan... but i resigned my lease.
there are some downsides of course...
-my cat found some roaches, but he is a cat, he does that... also this is TEXAS and there are trees outside (**another nice thing... not just other people's windows but real trees! wtf) and roaches are in your apt whether you have seen them or not.
-my old neighbors were loud sometimes... but they shut up when we asked them too
-the refrigerator is placed weird so if one person is in the kitchen cooking and you want to get in the fridge, there is no good way to maneuver.
-no microwave
-very little bathroom storage space/no bathroom drawers
-weird... but the paint is peeling off the bathtub... kind of gross. oh and the counters too, and doors. its weird
-there is only one cable jack and its on a weird wall. but we made it work and we only have one tv anyway. also, hulu.com people! free cable tv with no commercials!
-the hot tub kinda smells... funny... like socks
all in all, its nice. its an apartment. stuff breaks. people are jerks if you are jerks to them. neighbors exist. and anyway, i feel like most people living here are in college anyway so for college students, its really not bad at all. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
