I had the misfortune of signing on at Treehouse for the year and had so many problems I don't know where to begin. The first issue is the pet issue. They say there is no pet issue. Please go to the city and look at the records concerning the pet problem including dog crap everywhere....health department was out several times including animal control but the management failed to due anything about it albeit they were fined by the city. The cops being at the complex...go to the city and look up the records. Records do no lie thus it is quite surreal that the last poster stated there are no problems....how would they know that' Maybe they came from a lifestyle where letting your dogs run wild, defecating everywhere and not cleaning it up is accepted. There are no screen doors on most of the apartments so I had dogs running in and out of my house (yes I have pictures of this). The primary place where the dogs would crap was within five feet of my living room thus you can imagine that coupled with the trash compactors from the bar and chinese restaurant just acros the way coupled with 100 degree heat made for an awesome smell and the ideal breeding ground for flies....never did see a rat though. The shabby remodeling is just that...they painted over tattered walls, drawers, counters, etc. The story of the armed break-in as spoken about in an earlier post....I wasn't aware of that thus again, you should ask the city which has open records about this break in. Lastly, the lying by Brooke (mgr.) was continuous and of epic proportions. Take a look at the reviews. They have been negative up until this week with three postings all very positive and all obviously emanating from the same place (take a guess)...i assume they aren't getting the tenants they need for the school year due to the low ratings they have had until now when they upped the ratings. If you are suckered into signing on to this place even after reading the reviews (coincidentally they have jumped from 29% approval to the 45% in a very short time (look at the dates/comments and you should know who wrote them...won't insult your intelligence)then you will probably fit in just right. I have lived in many apartment complexes in many college towns and nothing remotely compares to the management of this one. It is in the contract for the apartment that you cannot write anything bad about the place while living there so this is being written a couple months after moving out.

Dear Former Resident, I work with the property management company for Treehouse, and on occasion I check the postings for the property. It's always helpful to get our residents prospective. Our goal is to provide quality housing for our residents. The owners have invested a great deal of time and money into making this property beautiful. We have no desire to waste that investment. Dr. Kanning is a TOOL and the craziest TXSTATE PROFESSOR in the world! Always home, smoking in his apt, but calls the health department for dog crap.....Smart one.. Dr.!! He is a liar and a nutt job! He stalked all the girls/boys in 10 building and would take pics of them with their dogs etc, not to mention the many altercations and yelling of curse words to residents. He would leave his sliding door all the way open on the 1st floor on purpose, when we were outside with our dogs to see if they would go in his apt. He made millions of complaints to the city, so yes you will find tons on file, but the city realized that he DID NOT have a FULL DECK OF CARDS!! and stopped stalking the Treehouse residents and staff, who were NEVER FINED by the city in any way!!! I feel sorry for who ever lives next to that WEIRDO now!!! Get a life dude!!
