I've had an enjoyable experience overall...
The parking problems that others have mentioned are very true, however they did issue parking stickers and that helped...if you are a serious student or grad student like myself, the parking problem is actually helpful because it prevents parties and, I generally get home between 11 and midnight and I haven't had a problem getting a parking spot. It may not be right next to my apartment, but walking a little farther isn't going to kill me. The gate has been broken here for awhile, but that's because residents are always hitting it. The person that broke into the cars here not only did it during the period of time when the gate was working, but also hit the Cedars, right across 35 and was eventually caught. In my opinion, you have these safety issues anywhere, it's just a risk you run and I actually think that since it is off of 35, it's a little more conspicuous when someone is around who doesn't belong in the complex. The apartments are section 8 housing, but it generally isn't an issue unless you are frequenting the pool during the summer between 4 and 6 when all of the junior high and high school kids congregate there. Otherwise, the people who are using the facility for that reason are very nice people, who all work during the day and have a family to take care of. Most of them utilize the on site day care facility and the bus stops and picks up kids everyday, which can be inconvenient in the morning, but all in all they are just nice people trying to get by.
Aside from this, the apartments are lovely, the pool is awesome, all of the appliances are new. The only problems I've had are that our ceilings were made faulty and we had some leaking issues during heavy times of rain, but they're working on it. Also, the air conditioner is a bit loud, but not too bad and the mail here isn't the most reliable.
