I disagree with most of the other negative reviews. I have lived in several apartment complexes in San Marcos and thought this was actually one of the best for the price. When we moved in, the apartment was in great condition. The office staff, especially the manager, have been very accomodating and friendly. The only problem I have found with parking is late at night, but daytime thru evening, there are always places near my apt. The grounds are nice and well kept. Okay, now on to my complaints... First, they are REALLY slow to respond to maintenance requests, and in general don't seem that helpful in that area. Second, when they do respond to maintenence, if you don't answer the door ASAP, they just use their key and come on in. So not cool if you're in the shower... Third, there are about a billion yappy tiny dogs running around leashless and their owners think it's funny when they pee on other people's feet or poop in other people's yard areas. Fourth, residents aren't very respectful of others. Major speeding in parking lots, especially late at night. Saturday and Sunday mornings there are usually a smattering of beer cans and broken bottles around the parking lots and even on the grounds and on our porch! Fifth, this sort of comes under the maintenance complaint, but the nice "looking" tiles in the kitches and bathrooms aren't really tiles and actually peel up if they get wet- as ours did when our washing machine leaked a little. The not-so-great maintenance staff claims they have any more of those tiles to replace them. BUT, all in all, I would recommend this place. The staff has really been really nice and make an effort to know your name. The maintenance staff is really nice in general. We've enjoyed living here, but every complex is going to have it's drawbacks.
