management leaves a lot to be desired...

I am sitting in my now empty westfield apartment thinking about just how bad the experience was... I should have known right from the start that this was going to be a mistake. The apartment that I was promised and the date that I had planned around got scrapped about a week before the move. I was moved into a bigger (that's the only positive attribute) one bedroom, but not given any kind of price break for the inconvenience. The carpet was old and had previous pet stains and odors in it, stains appeared from inside the carpet padding, and dont even get me started on the ants... They were EVERYWHERE. The apartments are not energy efficient in the least, a strong draft comes from under the front door which is compounded by the contract labor who does the leaf/dust blowing at 8AM everyday. The maintinence while overwhelmed responds reasonably quick but are a little messy, and that's only IF the girls working in the office relay the work order. Our questions went unanswered and if they were answered, it was always a runaround. Upon packing up my closet, I discovered massive amounts of water damage and MOLD in the corner sharing the bathroom wall. Add to all of this the fact that I paid $600 dollars a month for a 600sq.ft. apartment and it just doesn't seem worth the money. Finally, when it came time to move out of town, I was charged 235 dollars because of a technicallity in the lease. I was called well over 60 days before my move out date and asked about renewal. I told the girl in the office that I would be moving out at the end of my lease, however, they claimed that no record was made of that conversation although all renewal inquiries stopped. All though our power and cable were being shut off at the end of our lease, we still have to pay for 11 days of empty, unused space that is going to be ravaged in order to fix the extensive water damage. DO NOT RENT FROM WESTFIELD!!! If you find yourself in the area of 112 West Ave. KEEP DRIVING, it will be the best decision you will ever make. I am about to finish loading my car and hope that the image in my rear view mirror will not haunt me in my sleep.
