why i left

reasons why i left westfield...

ants: they are truly everywhere. in the kitchen, the bathoom, the bedroom, the livingroom, EVERYWHERE. i had pest control come several times to put their special ant gel into the walls; never works. it was so bad that i stopped stocking up the kitchen because ants would get into everything. everything i ever had in the kitchen had to fit in the fridge because it was the only safety zone away from the ants.

roaches and other nasty bugs: you can hear them in the walls and see their anteneas sticking through wall outlets. it was so disgusting.

i think management got so tired of me complaining about the bug problem. i requested pest control to come out another time (last time i ever asked) and they then told me that i had to remove my pet from my apartment for the entire day they were to come out. this was obviously a huge inconveniance and one that i had never had to do during the other 20 times they came out. apartments who say they are pet friendly should have and continue to have pet friendly pest control service.

insulation: it's not even there. if it is i'd be surprised. my utilities bill was extremely high for the little space i lived in. (i lived in the small one bedroom) even with the high bill i was freezing during the winter (most likely thanks to the huge sliding glass doors that are in both the living room and the bedroom) and during the summers i would burn up. the ac unit was so incredibly old. it never felt like the ac was ever on. i ended up having to buy several fans to place around the apartment.

plus, you could completely see daylight through my closed front door. all around the door frame there was hardly any insulation. often times my door would warp, because they're made of wood and have no storm weathered metal on them or anything. so my door would warp and expand and one time i was even trapped in my apartment because the door expanded so much over night after a storm hit. i had to call the front office and have them pull open the door from the outside.

the balcony: it's so small, there really is no point in having one.

water: always cuts off. there are always pipe breaks. the parking lot will often times be flooded or torn up because they are having to get to the broken pipes. count on the water being shut up for entire days at least 3 times a month.. at least.

old age: the buildings are so old compared to anything else around town. i could always hear every step my upstairs neighbors made. often times it sounded like the ceiling could cave in any minute. and forget if they were having a party.. you won't sleep at all that night.

take my advice, this isn't somewhere enjoyable to live. i couldn't wait until my lease was up!
