We lived here for 3 years and have over-all enjoyed it. There have been ups and downs, pros and cons but overall, you could do a lot worse for this town. Colony of San Marcos is fairly quiet, peaceful, nice trees, nice maintenance (both the old and the new guy). Some cons, also previously mentioned by a reviewer, for a while the management was unreliable (inconsistent office hours), but that seems to have passed. The apartment itself was nice enough, we liked our floorplan (2 bedroom) and had quiet neighbors mostly. Our apartment was in the quieter courtyard (with the swingset) but the pool area courtyard definitely has shadier individuals and more families with small children it seemed. Pool is mostly clean, sometimes the grills work, there is a coke machine as well. The front parking lot is supposed to be reserved for management, they sent out multiple fliers expressing this and threatening to tow vehicles that parked there. It worked for a few weeks but people just park there anyways now so I guess that's not being enforced. We just moved out, so we'll see if we get any crazy bills or have any issues with that.
