Its my first semester at Texas State and I'm looking for an apartment. The Zone is on my list. Is it a safe place to live' What do people think about the Zone'

I live at the Zone and DO NOT recommend it! We are constantly receiving letters on our doors from the management about various break ins! The complex is dimly lit and in a more secluded area which makes it the prime target. I often feel unsafe walking from the parking lot to my apartment and carry pepper spray with me every night. In addition to safety, the pet deposit is a total rip off! Along with many others I paid a non-refundable $250 and then have to pay $10 rent for my pet each month even though I know my declawed, neutered, senior cat will not cause any damages. There is nothing positive about this place except for the front desk works that my dad fondly calls "dumb eye candy."

I have lived here for three years and do NOT recommend it. The office has lost my rent check, maintainence has stolen out of my apartment and enters quite frequently without leaving any notice of it, and because of the electric company the complex has we FREQUENTLY lose power for hours at a time while all the other apartments around the zone are still on and fine. There are parties ALL the time and the management is the ones that throw a large number of them. The cops had to be called because of the noise during one of the management thrown pool parties. I loved the previous management (hints why i have lived here for three years) but this last year with the new one has been NOTHING but trouble...there are PLENTY of other apartments in San Marcos that are mush better deals (both price-wise and living-wise)

Nowhere in San Marcos is safe...there are idiots that break in EVERYWHERE around here. They pick on the ones who dont lock doors or leave them wide open. The Zone is no different from the rest. Also, everyone has a nasty pet deposit. I personally like where I live at the Zone. Nothing has ever gone wrong in the three years I have lived here. AND, I think the front office works very hard to have some kind of contact with us. I have lived at others and couldn't say the same.
