DO NOT RENT HERE!!! From: mshouston75 Date posted: 6/17/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   Unfortunately, not much has changed at Camden Sugar Grove. I leased for 12 months; June 2007- July 2008. The pools are nice and maintenance is general on top of things. Except that time it took 3 months to fix my security alarm system, the workers left wires exposed in my closet; I had to call several times until it was repaired. This really concerned me because recently 2 ladies were mugged at gun point on the apartment grounds. The community is gated yet anyone can and has tailgated in. The gates are often under repair and many times only one is accessible. This place is very expensive and if I want to renew my lease it will be nearly $200 more per month. The office staff changes frequently and makes several mistakes with processing rental payments. I have came home to 2 incorrect late notices with rent; one going as far as threatening to re-key by apartment if I didn't pay $2000 within 3 days. It ended up being a computer glitch. When I question the assistant manager as to why she didn't check the accuracy of the notice before posting it on my door; she stated she was too busy. I have reported these issues to the district manager at 713-354-2526 so maybe something will change. One of the most annoying things is I pay $30 per month for asssigned parking and often there are guests parked there; I call the office which is suppose to tow them (there are adequate signs posted) yet the management has never sent out of a notice reminding residents to keep their guests out of assigned (paid) parking. But they can clearly tell me about bushes being trimmed or a gate they are closing. There are cracks in my ceilings due to ongoing construction which was very noisy over spring break (when many people were out of school/work and wanted to sleep in). I would NOT recommend this property to anyone!
