I do not miss the old office staff at all

I want to respond to what a past resident had to say about missing "Sallie" and the old staff. I can tell you that I have lived here since 2002, and I am so happy Sally left. She was the most cruel manager I have ever worked with. What is more, she had her favorite residents who she, in my opinion, and what I heard, gave free rent to.
Things were so bad, that NO ONE went to the computer lab, pool, work-out room or attended breakfast gatherings. There was more turn-over at the office because of her presence. In fact, the personal crew left to go across the street because of her.
She made everything difficult. If you wanted to move into a bigger apartment, she made it clear that an additional deposit was required as well as an additional fee. If you overpaid your rent, she never told you about it.
She did not, I suspect, ever have my contract nor did she give me credit for being an educator with a percentage decrease. Her response was, "Well, you already signed your contract. It is too late."
Although no one is perfect, I am very happy with the new staff because they treat everyone the same no matter who you are or what race you are.
Believe you me, no one liked Sallie, not even her own staff. Everyone quit.
I can even remember every summer, she had the garden men start mowing the lawn at 7:00 a.m.! She knew it was summer, and everyone, particularly the children, slept late. In fact, I think she still had her gardeners work on the lawn mowing on week-ends!
In my opinion, she was more concerned with her own career-ladder than being a manager.

The author of this posting is biased because of her personal feelings about that particular former manager. The rumored "free rent" is a complete fabrication. The only "free" rent was actually compensation for referrals, services rendered by contractors, and other legitimate business ventures. The staff that "quit because they did not like Sallie" is not correct. Staff members quit because they moved to another city or state, had personal issues that could not be resolved outside of work hours, had changes in family dynamics, or were terminated due to performance, etc. And were the issue one of dislike for Sallie, then suffice it to say, very few employees like thier boss. As for changes on rental fees and other issues regarding lease agreements... one cannot change the lease agreement once it has been signed and there-by put into effect. In mentioning the gardening staff... they come a little later these days, but they are still there while you are trying to relax after working all day. The apartments currently look like a clown inspired patch-work quilt with gorilla cages enclosing the breeze-ways, and the parking is worse than it has ever been in the past 4 years that I have lived here. The pool is over-run in the summer with unattended children, half of whom do not even live here. The computer center is unaccessible because of these children also. Personally, if I had known that the old staff was going to leave, I would never have signed a new lease. At this point, I count the days until I can leave here and burn the bridge between the Enclave at Woodbridge and myself. I am sad to see a once beautiful and serene residence turn into a ghetto slum.

It sounds to me that this unhappy person is mad because the old manager would not make an exception for her. From my experience, Sallie followed the rules and treated everyone the same. She was always fair and professional to me and my neighbors.
