We have yet another new manager. On Monday, I realized my gate card was no longer working. The maintenance man was outside when it happened and he told me there was nothing wrong with the gate and I should go into the office. The office told me there was a short in the gate but my card would work. I would have to wave my card at the reader several times. She also looked up my name on her computer and said she would reset my card. I asked why would she reset my card if she said it would work' I never got an answer.

After talking with several of my neighbors, every one of them had gate cards not working. One was told by the management that all the cards were deactivated so all the residents had to go into the office. The new manager wanted to personnally catch all the residents that were not paying rent.

Another one was told that all the cards were deactivated because the management had lost track of many of the cards and no idea who had a working card to the complex.

Whatever the real reason is, the gate has been left open since Monday night.

I do remember my gate card not working, but once i stopped by the office they issued a new card with no problems. The gates remained open for about 3-4 days due to some type of malfunction. The situation really wasn't that big of deal. I've been in several apartment complexes before where the gates break quite often. In my opinion, this was handled very quickly & efficiently. Things like this happen! Get over it!

It is not a matter of getting over it. I do think it was a big deal. I do not think the matter was handled quickly or efficiently. Things do happen. How things are handle is what makes a good manager. I think it could have been handled much better. That is my opinion.

im assuming a lack of rent was a major issue at hand. and insted of dealing with it in a professional manner ppl had to be inconvienced. the gate can be a REAL problem if not functioning properly at all times, infact it can be a fire/OSHA violation.
