Run Away.

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2008
This was my first apartment after college so there will always be fond memories of this place BUT by the end living here was awful.
I grew up in Sugar Land and knew all the problems with the complex but in 2004 you couldn't beat the price or the view. I had a first floor in the building that burned and had to be rebuilt so everything was upgraded with a lake view for $630 a month. By the time I moved out they wanted over $900 for an apartment that they had not touched in Four Years.
You could also notice a change in the quality of people living in the complex as the older people moved out in others moved in. I never saw the cops at the complex the first two years there but by the end they were there all the time with lights ablaze. And parking was a nightmare after 4 in the afternoon. And spots were always blocked as they cut down the beautiful trees that surrounded the complex so they could plant more grass.
Also 3 weeks before I moved out my apartment was broken into on a day ALL the Gables Offices were closed for "Training". Maintenance were the only live people I could get on the phone and they did show up to check my doors BUT they tried to walk in before the cops showed up and couldn't understand why I wouldn't let them inside. The office was not helpful at all after the break in and it wasn't till I mentioned I was thinking of talking about the whole ordeal on a local morning radio show that they started paying attention.
Don't live here. It's cheaper to live in Richmond or the Fountains or even a house in Old Sugar Land.
