Austin Ranch markets itself as a place for singles to meet and socialize. It does NOT market itself as a complex that gives its residents the best quality for the $$$. If you are looking to meet people and party, then this is the place for you. If you want the best quality apartment and service, then look elsewhere. The building construction (especially in the newer phases) is average a best. Your electric bill will be high due to the lack of insulation. There is too much noise from people who haven't realized that college is over and the buildings don't have greek letters posted on them. Parking is OK. If you want to avoid a long walk, then I suggest leasing a covered spot. Neither the office nor the package store in Austin Square will accept packages anymore, you will have to be home to receive them. The cable/internet is a joke by AT&T. No DVR or HD service. Most people get their own satellite dishes if they can. The DSL requires a 30 dollar land line in addition to the ISP charges. It will also take at least a month for them to connect it. The amenities are pretty good. The pools are the best looking of any apt.complex I've ever seen. But then you don't have to be a resident to use them since half the people at the pool every weekend do not even live at AR. Gecko and Zen are nice to have so close but avoid living anywhere near them. I'm finally moving out due to a new job in a different location so I can't comment on how mgt will treat me after I leave. I'm expecting the worst due to previous reviews posted here. Overall, I have to say to any propective resident is that you think about what you want in an apartment complex before just signing a lease based on external appearances alone.

| Dear Resident, Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry that you have had so many problems since you have lived here. We have made some changes that you may not be aware of in regards to the items that you have listed. We are in the process of getting HD with A&TT, being that is a hot topic for all of our residents. Also we have added more secuirty and a liaison to security in the office. We have a zero tolerance polocy on the pool rules and noise/community rules. (which made a huge difference this summer around the community and at the pools. The buildings are insulated (bld code requirements)some floorplans have higher electric bills than others. The ones with 25ft ceilings and lots of windows are going to cost you. We are sorry to see you leave but wish you the best on your job transfer! Sincerly, Austin Ranch | |
