I am a property manager and I have choosen to live at austin ranch for the privacy and amenities!! I am now considering BREAKING MY LEASE and let me tell you why! First of all i used to live in phase 2 and transfered to phase 4.....which i thought was a FABULOUS idea....wrong. 2 weeks before i transfered the apartment above me flooded and water came pouring into my apartment from all different directions.....not a huge deal, right' well i called emergency maintence and he said he would not come out until the morning because he lives an hour away (can we say UNPROFESSIONAL!) ok so from being in the business FLOODING IS CONSIDERED AND EMERGNCY, and usually very simple to fix TURN OFF THE WATER IN THE APARTMENT THAT IS FLOODING!!!!!!! ok so the next day they come out first thing, impressive, and ruin the good impression by saying well since your moving we will just fix all this after you move out. I said ok as long as i am not charged for damages........RIGHT! oK I'M not in my NEW apartment and get my move out from my old apartment......$1000 was apparently what i owed austin ranch in damages. they charged me for carpet, sheet rock repair, and replacing tiles.....all of which they assured me i would not have to pay for!!! well now I have been going around in circles with the accounting department, and getting NO WHERE. My suggestion is to have a member of management do a walk-thru of your apartment before turning in your keys!!!! Don't take the word for it!!!!
