I recently put down a down payment for an apartment at this site on 2/20, with a scheduled move in on 3/28/09 with the intent of taking advantage of a "look and lease" option. In less than 24 hours, I called the leasing agent back to inform them that I just recently found out that I was under a longer committment than I thought at my recent address and would not be able to move in on 3/28/09. I asked them to refund the deposit (not the admin and the app fee). They informed me that since they took the apartment off the market for less than 24 hours that they could not refund me my money. Again, I was not scheduled to move in until 3/28/09. I failed to mention that the leasing agent gave me no notice that the refund was not available when I gave her the check. There are several other issues and concerns that I will be happy to share with you upon request. However, my intent of this email is to inform potential customers (like me) how this management team treats potential customers given unforeseen, uncontrollable circumstances. This is a very large Apartment complex and I clearly see how I would be treated as a number rather than a valued tenant. With the economy as it is, not many of us have $300 to just give to a business as I have been expected to do. Beware and don't expect this company to make any decisions in "Good Faith". BTW...Obviously this business has never heard of the "Buyer's Remorse Law"' (Next Steps... Contact ownership to share all details of this event).
