I lived in Lakewood apartments for about a year and I must admit that the only thing that I liked about it was the location. That was it! I did not feel it was a safe place, they stole things from car and my neighboors'cars. If you have a problem, do not bother talking to the management, they won't help you. But they are incredibly good at being nice when you first walk there, and for the first 2 months. One day, I got home, and there was no electricity, not because I didnt pay it, but because the management told the electric company to disconnect the electricity from my house. 3 days without electricity duringthe hot summer of 04. The appliances and buildings are old, often not working properly. I have been away from them for 4 months, and they still did not give me my 100 dollars deposit whereas everything was just the way it was supposed to be. Because there were so many complaints, they changed the manager over there, but it didn't change a thing. Most of the people leave as soon as their contract is up. Good luck for your search, because I am sure that you can find much better than Lakewood Apartments.
