I've lived in Lakewood for 8 years and finally had enough of the bad management. However, the complex has recently been bought and is under new management. The reason I decided to leave was for security/safety issues that cropped up in the past year, as well as poor maintenance within my unit. Good luck to anyone who wants to move in. It is a lovely complex, but until the management improves I won't be moving back.

Details -- Aimco left my apartment unsecured after a fire in the building for 5 days over the Christmas break. Now the new management cannot seem to mail me back my security deposit even after they confirmed that I had a refund coming back. Do not live here is you value your safety and money.
