The Dovetree Manager Lady is rude and condecending

I agree with this lady. I was in there June 6 and watched a nice lady come in and she was talking to the management about how they gave her a notice on her door 10 days before her lease was up letting her know that she must give a 60 day notice that she will be leaving even though she was on a 6 month lease that was ending. So she is moving and still has to pay over $1,000 because they will make her stay unbudgingly after her lease is already up for 2 more months.
The manager who is female is very rude and talks condecendingly to you as if she could care less about getting your business. The rest of the staff are somewhat nice but bark her orders as they are trained.
I talked with another guy who still had 2 months left on his lease. He found someone who qualified to take over a new lease on the place and just pay him the remainder of the 2 months but they declined the tenant because they believed he stole one of the sales ladies sales. So this guy will likely have to pay the $1,000 extra while he lives in Houston. Apparently the female manager made a big deal about it and refused to give the new tenant the place, on the grounds that the old tenant stole the sale. I personally have spoken with this sales lady and she is very rude and not a pleasing person to do business dealings.

I am the assistant manager of Dovetree Apartments and could honestly tell you that this is not how this incident happened. Whoever, and we know who this is knows that you can not come into the office while being a resident here and steal a lease from our leasing consultant. The resident only had a month and a half left on his lease and our policy is that you must have at least 6 months left of your lease to let someone take it over. Therefore, the manager had done nothing wrong, but simply following our company policies, and whoever this lady was that came into the office concerned about having to put in a 60 day notice to vacate, did in fact receive a notice that her lease was ending in 60 days, I know this for a fact because I am the one that handles the renewals and I personally put the notices out myself.Oh and one more thing, know we do not bark as if we have been trained. We are a very professional staff that takes everyone serious.

Wow, it looks like Dovetree really monitors this ratings site. It is kind of interesting how there are so many similar sounding positive reviews here lately. It looks like the sales people at Dovetree are trying to make their reputation better then it really is.

In this day in age are you honestly surprised that the managers are checking the reviews? Yeah, some of the higher ratings do look like shills though. I occasionally check back on Dovetree, I wrote a review back in 2005 I believe giving it a 4/5. If I had written it in 2004, I would have given it a 5/5.
The management & maintenance at the time was going downhill, although the unit was still very safe with spacious parking. It was also very quiet, at least in the building I lived in.
I won't comment on how it is now, but back then it was great bang for the buck. If for some reason I ever had to move back into an apt complex, I would certainly consider Dovetree. I don't know if I could handle not having any washer/dryer hookups in the 1 bedroom units anymore though. :)
