Decent for the Price, if you don't mind noise (very long)

I have lived here for over a year now and I have to say that I have been pretty much satisified with this apartment. They say you get what you pay for, and theres not many places where you can get a 2 bedroom apartment for $480 a month. Rent will be going up soon though, and they are initiating a 10/month/per pet fee (I believe thats what it is), and you have to begin paying for your water (which is also new), and they are about to have a rent increase. Management has changed three times since I have been living there, and all three times the management has always been friendly to me, except for one that got fired (thank the Lord). The current managers have been very friendly and care very much about their residents are always available to listen to problems. They even host contests for decorating and chili cookouts every few months. Management is probably one of the reasons that I have not been completely disgusted with this apartment. Parking isn't really a problem either. It is a younger people apartment, so when a party is going on, you may have to park a few spots further than you'd like, but there's always parking relatively close. The pool is pretty big and they take decent care of it, but the laundry room is somewhat lacking due to the 1970s models of washer/dryers. They still work though. It has been a relatively safe place to live I will say. There have been a few incidents with family disturbances where Tyler PD has had to come, and only one car break in that I know of. (You can request a criminal history on apartments from Smith County). The layout of this apartment is AMAZING, I love it!! But the cheap repair work that is done seems to take away from it. This could be a REALLY great apartment for you if you're willing to bend a little. I'm just ready to move on. The reason I am moving out of this apartment is for the following reasons:

1. Maintenance is absolutely horrid! The maintenance men are as nice as they can be, but apparently they are extremely understaffed and overworked. After two months of requesting for certain work to be done, I have finally just given up and adjusted to life without this work done.

2. Water - When it rains, it pours...right into my apartment. My carpets around all the windows gets drenched with water every time it rains. Several items in my apartment have been ruined from water damage (and no I have not been reimbursed).

3. Noise - Again I may have too high of expectations, but when I lay down to sleep, I expect not to hear someone's TV or music playing keeping me awake. This did not happen every night, and it may not be every apartment, but the walls are rather thin.

Overall I would have stayed probably due to the friendly service, location, layout of the apartment, and price, but since the price is going up, I'm just not convinced that I can't find a better apartment for that price.
