Besides location, there is no good reason to live at University Pines. The staff is absolutely terrible - my own RA drinks and blatantly breaks all of the rules (letting visitors park in resident spots, partying, taking visitors to check on noise complaints and telling the person making the noise who made the complaint - just to name a few). The other RAs (with the exception of one) have no concept of what being fair with residents even is. The office makes exceptions for so many people, and then busts other people for minor infractions (my own roommate has a "deal" with the accountant to pay her rent late every month, but the rest of us get a $30 penalty'') Complaints made are never taken seriously, except of course when your parent is calling the office. The office is only friendly with parents.

Maintenance' Yeah right. I have literally put in so many work orders that the apartments legally had to provide repairs for and they were THROWN AWAY (I went and checked on them).

The police have harrassed many people I know for doing nothing (if you're out past midnight, you must be doing something wrong). They ususally respond to complaints, however, which is a good thing when someone is actually doing something wrong.

Roommate Matching Service = crap. They throw you with whoever they want, and then they don't want to help you when you don't like your roommate (I've heard "deal with it" several times until my parents came up here). You have to live in fear here of being reported for anything (especially the completely stupid rules). I've been spied of by the RAs several times (the hypocritical one at that).

Basically, I stay away from my own house for most of the time because I simply cannot stand to be there. With how much we're paying to live here, I would like a little more respect from the office and other people that are in authority here. When I move out, I plan on writing a letter to Dr. Mabry and the Dean of Student Affairs and hopefully getting every single person here fired.

Please, Please find somewhere else to live. I plan on getting the link to this website out so freshman can see it and never live here.
