We awoke to several gun shots around 2am. A man was shot to death right outside our apartment. I do not feel safe living here anymore. I realize this can happen no matter where we live but this is just too close for comfort. The police were not able to get through the front gate at the apartment due to the code box. Having a gate with a required code is stupid because people just follow other cars inside once the gate is open and when cops need in, they can't get in. We have put in several requests for maintenence before something gets done. They do temporary bandaid fixes, nothing permanent.

I'm so glad I've read the reviews for this complex!!! I live @ U Pines (about to move out too) and was up when this horrible incident happened @ Varsity Place. I swore I heard gun shots but wasn't sure. Within 5 minutes I heard sirens coming our direction. Sure enough, a couple police cars sped by and eventually a fire truck showed up. I wondered what happened and now I know. I'm GLAD I didn't have quite the income to qualify when I toured the place about a week ago. I was really trying to find the right job to qualify to live there but not anymore!! I'll find somewhere else to move to!

Gun Shoots in Varsity Place: I moved in those apartments in 07 and moved out in 08, not that they were bad...my sister has been staying in those apartments since 06 i beleive and she has never had any problems....u know ---- happens and with the society changing anything is bound to happen, and it could start in your own home...me personally i think those apartments are very nice and the office workers give the students plenty of activites to do....when my sister called my mother after the shooting my mother was very shocked. all i can say is its time for everyone to start loving each other because god is on his way to soon return and those that dont beleive WILL be knocked off there feet....SO STOP THE VIOLENCE!
