Poor and unprofessional management

It is a shame that the management is so horrible because these are really nice apartments in a good part of town. My ---- and I had to get out of the lease after only 24 days of living there because of poor management. I am military and was stationed to Randolph, AFB. We chose these apartments because of a recommendation from a friend.
First of all, they did not have the apartment ready on the date they said they would, and they had two weeks to have it ready. We moved in and informed them of the a/c (emergency item) was not working. It took them 5 days to respond and another two days to repair the a/c. It reached well over 90 deg F. in the apartment (south TX). We called almost everyday and received empty promises of them repairing it. There were many items that were never addressed while we were living there. We submitted a request to cancel the lease because they violated many terms of the contract, and we still had to pay $735 to get out of it! I was okay with that because that was a settled amount to cancel all prior agreements including deposits, rent, utilities, etc.
Now, they are coming back and trying to bill us another $500 which violates our settlement agreement. So, now I am still having to fight them for this amount. It is a long story, but they are basically trying to sneak extra money out of us. When my ---- went to hand in the settlement agreement, the manager was very rude with her saying that it was personal that we wanted out; very unprofessional.
If you are military BEWARE. They might give you a great rate for you, but the staff themselves do not support the military. I have some fellow squadron members stuck and have similar problems with the management. If the head manager's ------- is a military member, and I am sure that he would be very disappointed in his ---- for treating his fellow airmen this way. I am currently trying to get them blacklisted at Randolph, AFB because this is at least the 5th legal matter that military personnel has had against these apartments since June 07, and we can't all be wrong.

------- was nice! the others on the other hand.. no comment. Did you live in Building 4 by any chance? I had a neighbor above me that was in the service but i noticed they didn't stay long. Wondering if it might be you?

Here is another example of how unprofessional this management is. The manager's ------- sent this to me in an email.
Lieutenant,
Since you've decide to drag me into your apartment mis-rating diatribe let me make this short and to the point. I am 100 percent certain that as an officer in the United States Air Force Integrity is a word that you should be familiar with. However; knowing of your case and having read your review I can see it is not a word you have any use for. In plain English the truth has eluded you. I will not match your ridiculous review point for point.
I will say that my ---- whom I am very proud of gave you every opportunity to tell the truth and get out of your lease. Even after she learned that it was to rent another dwelling. NOT because of the laundry list of fabrications in your rating. Even after you came clean she let you out of your lease far less painfully than is require by law. As for being military friendly she goes out of her way to help Military members and their families and regularly her kindness is repaid by people trying to abuse the system and crying when they are called on it. Welcome to your situation! Integrity is a word you were definitely taught I suggest you learn how to properly apply it.

I, too, have experienced the wrath of the emotionally driven greater-than-thou occasionally unprofessional management at SRC.
I have been berated by ----, although was fortunate enough to experience that via telephone and not writing, and in all fairness I will mention that I did subsequently receive a seemingly sincere apology.
I feel that even though the management has the tendency to become unprofessional- they really do mean well and have been polite overall. I understand that they have people to answer to and reports to file, etc, and in their world they are constantly seeking to cover their asses. If anyone threatens that aspect of their job, they fight it.
It's unfortunate that I've had multiple negative experiences with this management because I do believe that the good intent is there. I believe they mean well, however while they aim for excellence they unfortunately frequently miss quite dramatically.
