University Terrace at 1800 S. 8th Street isn't bad if you're attending Baylor. Close to campus, it's an easy block walk which means you don't have to buy a parking sticker. But it is noisy here; facing Bagby Ave. means there's lots of traffic all hours of the day and night. And lots of people honk their horns, etc as they drive by their friend's apartments, so it can be quite annoying. It's not the safest area, either, although there are police driving by frequently. The outer doors of the apartments are actually thin interior doors with locks stuck on them; they'd probably give way with a good kick. Maintenance response is good; price is great considering that University Rentals pays for electricity and water! So all you have to pay is your rent, cable, and telephone; great for college kids on a budget. Apartments are pretty roomy; big bedroom and 2 walk-in closets are a plus for roommates. But no pets are allowed, and if you want to feel safe and have a quiet neighborhood, this isn't for you.
