Obviously, I am not the only one that thinks that Baxter Crossing Apts. are HORRIBLE to live in. The main and just about only thing that makes these apartments bad is the manager Denise Dawson. I lived at Baxter Crossing 2003 to 2005... It wasnt bad the first year and a half. My rent was $504/mo until November 2003 when it went to $554/mo because my lease was up and I went to month to month. Then one day (it was about mid- 2004), I get a note on my door saying I owe money for rent being late. There was no way because I paid it on time, just like I always have. I ignored the letter. Then I got another note saying I owed late fees, and then another and another. And one day, I was getting my mail and Denise stopped me saying that I owe her money. I said "I dont owe you anything." She said "Well, I have your check from the month that was paid late in the office and I'll show it you." I said "Show me." We went to her office and she was looking for the check for a minute or two and I told her I don't have time for this. She said "Ok i will make a copy of the check and tape it on your door." I said alright. I never got a copy of the check on my door and I never got another letter saying I owe her money. This makes me believe she was just out to scam me for extra money. Then in May 2005, I get a letter on my door again saying I owe money for late fees. I thought NOT AGAIN! I got another note and another and another, everytime saying I owe late fees. Then one day I was sitting in the bath tub when I hear someone pounding on my door. I thought "Wow that's loud" Two seconds passed and then I hear pounding again and someone yelling "MANAGER!!" and then Denise tried to come in my apt. but my top lock was locked so she wasnt able to come in. What was she trying to do' Collect her money right then and there' About the next day I get a different note saying that my rent has been $530/mo since May 2005 and since I am month to month, I should've been paying $580/mo and that is where she was getting her late fees from. So I guess that one day she decided to go up on my rent without letting me know and start charging me late fees'' I have talked to 3 other people saying that she had done similar things to them; saying that they owe her money. This woman is a nightmare. If the owners of the apartments get rid of her, then Baxter Crossing wouldn't be that bad of a place to live but until then, I would say to anyone to live somewhere else!
