I leased an apartment last summer during a clerkship for an exorbitant amount--$1200 a month--because it was supposedly corporate housing. I definitely didn't see any "corporate types" living there. In fact, I actually feared for my life--it was like living in a drug slum.

To make matters worse, the staff was clueless. The whole time I was there things were going wrong in the apartment. For instance, my air conditioner leaked all over the carpet in the hallway to the bedroom, so I was forced to literally wade water if I wanted to go into the bedroom or the bathroom. To say that my toilet was low flow was an understatement. It typically required four to five flushes to get the job done. The apartment supposedly had complimentary door-to-door trash pick up, yet when I would get home from work my trash would still be sitting there covered with ants. I suppose that the trash pick up meant I had to pick up the trash and drag it to the dumpster free of extra fees.

I don't know if my upstairs neighbors had twenty kids or what--but it sure sounded like it. I expected for them to fall through the ceiling at any moment, and I was frequently awakened during the wee hours of the morning by their noise.

Phone service was supposed to be included in my rent--but guess what the dumb a** manager failed to pay the phone bill--so I was left without phone service or internet access for work until she found time to pay the bill with my $1200 rent check.

I don't know what was worse--the thugs outside my apartment window or the army of ants marching across my $1200 apartment. I continually complained about the ants--and the exterminator sprayed probably three times in the 6 weeks that I was there--which would cause my poor cat to puke all over the place. I suppose that the exterminator was continually unsuccessful at eradicating the ants becasue they have a new mutant strand of ants at Fleetwood Apartments.

When I moved out I left the trail of dead ants on the counter that I had killed that morning before work with ant spray and the molding hallway carpet. This place is a complete sh**hole. If you plan on living there you better purchase a gun or some type of weapon because your neighbors are well-armed.

I should have sued these people for extortion--$1200 to live in what appears to be government housing.
